  I went to see an ENT at CEENTA because I had severe sinus pain, and had already taken a long-term antibiotic. I was there to see if the doctor felt more antibiotics were needed or what should be done. The doctor kept saying that "A CAT scan is the gold standard for sinus infections." My breathing was perfectly clear, and there was no mucus. He explained that there was no way they could culture anything because they needed yellow mucus to do that. I agreed to get the CAT scan. Almost as an afterthought, the doctor said he wanted to look in my nose. He put in a bit of anesthetic spray, though he did not wait for it to take effect, and he looked in my nose for less than 45 seconds. He proceeded to tell me "No, there isn't anything we can culture," (which was obvious from what he had already said). I was shocked to see a $399 on my bill for "surgery." I called the billing office three times about this issue, and they never got back to me. They finally told me that they had sent my complaint to the doctor's office and the charges would stand. They also never got back to me about the results of my CAT scan. I am convinced this office just looks for ways to rip off their patients and their insurance companies. I flagged them with my insurance company. The doctor, himself, was a nice person, but their office practices are questionable. My recommendation: find a different practice!
